If you are like me I have something I like to call a gym phobia. Yup that's right I think gyms are one of the most daunting and intimidating places to go to. I am always are worried about what people think and from what I have heard from others the way people may judge you makes me very unmotivated to go. So how do you overcome this because of course you want to feel comfortable sweating, grunting and not looking your best when you go to the gym.
Firstly I feel that you should always take note when you workout ensure that you are doing the technique correctly because this will build your confidence and if you are unsure ask someone that works at the gym they would be happy to help. Secondly try go with a friend to get you motivated to go to the gym, having the reassurance and support to workout is always helpful if you can't get a friend maybe try get a personal trainer for a couple of sessions to ensure you are comfortable with the equipment. Thirdly try going to a smaller/boutique gym. They will always have more of a family environment where everyone knows each other and you end up with a automatic support group (this is exactly why we have our gym :P ) Finally no matter what just be confident in yourself who cares what others think you are there because you want to make healthier and happier you and that is the most important thing you can do :) I hope this helps Jayde
